I have been a sugar Artists
for over 25 years and have studied the art of cakes and culinary
sweets around the world. I am a member of ICES (International Culinary
Exploration Society) and have studied with Earlene Moore, and Collette
Peters who you may have seen on the Food Network Channels winning many
of the Cake Challenges and ICES Cake competitions. They have helped
perfect my skills in Gumpaste and Fondant work and introduced me to the
love of teaching sugar arts. I have taught many local and private cake
classes as well classes at the Eastern New Mexico University in Portales
New Mexico.
Michelle’s Cakes and Sugar Arts started here locally in Maryland 6 years
ago. I have had the great pleasure of doing many cakes for Clients all
around DC/VA/MD as well as the Government here and in Annapolis. Cakes
are not just a form of art for me they give me instant gratification. To
see the faces of my clients when that special cake inspiration comes to
life. To hear the compliments and gratitude make me thankful that I
have a job I love.
Beautiful cakes are only part of the process. Your cakes should taste
as wonderful as they look so I use the freshest ingredients I can find
and use local organic produce when in season and available. I am always
looking for that unique combination of flavors to make the taste buds
come to life. So don’t be afraid to walk on the wild side sometimes with
flavor. The cake should compliment what you are serving, continue the
theme you are presenting and make your guests take notice of the special
time and thought you put into the sweetest part of yout celebration.
Call me for a consultation and tasting. Lets make your cake the focal
point of the room and the sweetest part of your new life together as a
married couple.
